For Toni and Alex, the idea of having only posed photos felt unnatural to them, so we took some time to get to know them and their interests. After talking, we gathered that a coffee shop is their typical rendezvous. It seemed fitting to use Bolton's well known Archtop Café as the setting for their engagement session and a local spot in Caledon for some outdoor photos. We began their session at Archtop to set them up in an environment that would feel natural, comfortable and allow us to capture candid moments.
Helping clients feel comfortable in front of the camera is important because they become more photogenic and more willing to follow instruction. An engagement session is always a good time for photographers to break the ice with their clients before the wedding day. It allows us to figure out what people are comfortable with, which angles and specifics work well for all of our couples.
