This particular family photo session is one that hits close to home for far too many people. Denise, a mother of four, came to us with a touching idea for her family photos and we were happy to make it happen.
Heather, her third born, was diagnosed with Rhabdomyosarcoma, a rare cancer that affects mostly young children. Heather lost her fight to cancer three years ago so Denise, Colleen, Sarah and Steve came up with a beautiful way to include everyone in the portrait session.
It is hard to put in words how incredible it is to see a family live through adversity. We admire each and everyone who faces life head on and stories like Heather's have a hugely positive impact on the lives of others.
The Leonardo family spends a lot of their time continuing to fight. This past September 16th Heather's twin sister, Colleen, celebrated her 23rd birthday in a special way by delivering a truck full of toys to SickKids hospital to honour sister. Check out how she did it here.
